The WHSS Spirit of Social Collectivism Carried to The Stars was the newest of the five Destiny Class colony ships, and including the Alabama, would be the sixth starship to travel to Coyote from earth.
Gregor Hull, a Savant who specialised in studying human behaviour in colonies, theorised that the Alabama colonists would be resistant to interference to outsiders, and be committed to mainlining their independence. As a result there was a strong presence of Union Guard soldiers aboard the Glorious Destiny. However, Gregor Hull was confident that the original settlers would have retaliated even against an organised force.
Conditions on Earth were rapidly deteriorating and Coyote was essential to human survival. The Union was not prepared to allow the colony to fall out of it’s control, and intended to fight to assert itself.
As a result, Fernando Baptiste, captain of the Spirit, the next ship to leave Earth for Coyote, found himself the reluctant Captain of a military operation, as the quota of Union Guards aboard his ship was increased.
Baptiste was uneasy about his new mission, but knew he was in no position to turn it down… there was to be a rising on the moon of Coyote…
